Steering By Stars - Collision

Last year, we interviewed Aussie four-piece Steering By Stars about their debut album. Well, now they're back with two new songs, Collision, which will feature on their forthcoming sophomore record (due to hit the streets early next year), and B-side Ink. Both are available on itunes.

Keyboardist/vocalist Lachlan exclusively told Bobbysix.com "We have been rather quiet of late, as we have been focusing on writing the new album. We intend for this to be a slight departure from our last, including more space in the songs, more structure and shedding some of the post-rock indulgences that have defined our previous efforts. Notably also, is a focus on cleaner and less effected vocals, which we now have the courage to write and perform."

Have a look and listen to Collision below and check out their facebook page here.

Getting to know... Steering By Stars

Adelaide four-piece Steering By Stars release their debut album, Cables, in July. Ahead of this, bassist Adrian Reveruzzi talks to Bobbysix.com.

I would describe Steering By Stars’ sound as aggressively ambient, ambiently aggressive, orchestrally symphonic.

We take inspiration from experiences which stimulate or provoke an emotional response and contribute to our artistic expression.

You should check out our album because supposedly our music is not all that radio friendly so if you want to hear it you might just have to buy the record.

If we could open for any band in the world, it would be continuing our recent trend of always being the support act. Preferably I would like the following bands to support us: Deerhunter, A Place to Bury Strangers, Wild Beasts etc.

I wish Steering by Stars had written the score to Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange including the Beethoven Symphonies.

As a band, we aspire to one day write a happy song.
