Last Dinosaurs - Andy

Remember how we interviewed Last Dinosaurs a while ago? Well, they've gone from strength to strength since then, and some time touring the UK (playing The Great Escape, London, Manchester, Liverpool Sound City, Scotland, Amsterdam and Field Day Festival) has seen them win fans at The Guardian, The Sun and NME

Here's their new clip, which draws upon Andy Warhol's art. The animations are hand-crafted, containing an organic jitter that you only get from frame-by-frame work. Each frame was hand-drawn over and separately animated using a graphics tablet.

The band are still in the UK at the moment and will be returning to their homeland in time to play at Splendour In the Grass.

Super cheap Great Escape early bird delegate tickets now available

Last year's Great Escape Festival in Brighton was wicked. If you fancy heading along again next year, but feel like getting an even more rounded experience (as well as being able to avoid those pesky queues), then you might be interested in the fact that they have just released delegate passes for TGE 2012, which will take place in and around many different venues around Brighton city centre from 10-12 May.

As well as giving priority access to all the venues, a delegate pass also gets you into The Great Escape convention, which will bring together music business professionals from across the world to discuss, evaluate and share the new approaches that are emerging for developing, launching and monetising artist and music rights. The festival will once again introduce the best line up of up and coming bands to the 15,000 international delegates and new music fans that attend. Super Early Bird passes are now available to buy for a frankly embarrassingly cheap price of £80. There are a limited number of passes available to buy at this discounted rate so ensure that you buy fast to avoid disappointment. Passes can now be purchased by CLICKING HERE.

Oh, and if you are a band that fancies playing at Brighton's own version of SXSW, then click here for deets. We will, of course, be in attendance, so maybe we'll see you there.

Discover your new favourite band at The Great Escape.

This Thursday to Saturday, the Great Escape Festival takes over Brighton, in the South of England. Tickets are still available so do yourself a favour and grab one today to enable yourself to whizz from from cool venue to cool venue to check the fuck out of amazing acts from all over the world.

As you will know, we are quite Aussie-focused here at BobbySix.com, so are excited to see The Jezebels, The Holidays, Cloud Control, Little Red and PVT. Meanwhile, big names from elsewhere like Friendly Fires and Sufjan Stevens are also getting our pulses racing.

The very best thing about TGE though, aside from the beautiful punters and the amazing atmosphere that it brings to the city, is that it affords music fans the opportunity to stumble upon bands of whom they have little knowledge. You never know, you might just discover your new favourite group there this year. Like, for instance, Dutch indiefolk act I Am Oak (pictured above), who play on Thursday at 9pm at the Unitarian Church. Check their sweet sounds below:

Great Escape Early Bird tickets - time is running out!

At Bobbysix.com, we love Australian music and we love Brighton. Which pretty much makes The Great Escape our favourite festival in the whole world. You can forget about Glastonbury or Big Day Out, just drop us into the heart of Brighton and watch us bounce from cool venue to cool venue as some of Australia's hottest new thangs rub shoulders with amazing acts from all over the world.

This year, a few of the many acts representing the vibrant Aussie scene are BobbySix favourites, The Jezebels, The Holidays, Cloud Control (pictured, above), Little Red and PVT. And let's not forget that NZ has its share of acts too, not least Die! Die! Die! and The Naked And Famous.

These guys are joined on the bill by some hot names like Friendly Fires, Sufjan Stevens, Young the Giant, DJ Shadow, Suuns, Handsome Furs and The Vaccines.

Anyways, to the point. If you want to get along to this epically amazing festival - and why wouldn't you? - then the exciting news is that you can still score tickets at the Early Bird rate. However, this deal runs out on the 12th April. So don't delay. Secure a ticket today.

Keep your eye on Bobbysix.com for interviews, news, reviews and pictures and all manner of other Great Escape-related stuff.

Die! Die! Die! and Bleeding Knees Club are at The Gaelic Club this Friday.

Die! Die! Die! are back with their third album, Form, and it is the New Zealanders as you have never heard them before. Is it noise pop? Post punk? Shoe gaze? Noise/post/gaze/pop? Who the fuck knows? What it is though, is relentless, reckless, menacing, energetic and melodic. In a word, it's good. Still, why take our word for it? You can hear and see for yourself, as Die! Die! Die! are currently playing tracks from Form, as well as some old favourites, on stages across Australia. They're at the Croation Club in Newcastle tonight, Melbourne's Ding Dong on Saturday and tomorrow will be causing some serious damage at Sydney's Gaelic Club as part of the ever-brilliant party, Last Night.

Hitting up the same stage at The Gaelic are Bleeding Knees Club. The irrepressible garage-pop 'n' surf-punk pair have toured nationally with Wavves and Lightspeed Champion, while less cool but equally impressive is that their track, Have Fun, was hand-picked to soundtrack a TV ad for Myer. BobbySix.com's English readers should note they can see them at Brighton's Great Escape Festival in May.

Details of Friday's shindig at the Gaelic Club can be found at the facebook event page. Tickets can be bought on the door for ten bucks (psst: here is a little tip for you. Say "Carol's List" on the door and you'll get in for $8. Don't say we never do anything for you).

Stonefield. Guaranteed to be younger and cooler than you.

If you don't want to feel old, uncool and talentless, then you'd better not check out Stonefield. The Melbourne sisters play 70s-inspired rock that oozes the effervescence of youth while showing a musical maturity that belies their tender years. Described by Triple J's Dom Alessio as "the best high school band in the country," Stonefield have embarked on a huge run of Australian dates over the past two weeks and are playing at the Northcote Social Club this Friday. If you're in the area, then you'd be a flipping idiot not to get along. Support comes from Kashmere Club and the brilliantly named Royston Vasie.

The buzz is spreading so far and wide about this quartet of siblings that festival goers back in Old Albion will be able to catch them at Glastonbury this summer. Exciting times indeed.
